The efficient way is to keep a running list and book a half day or a full day. A good technician with a stocked van will close eight to fifteen items in a full day. Same drive, same setup, one invoice.
Work that legally requires a permit or a specialty license inside an hourly visit: panel changes, gas line alterations, structural work, main line sewer work and roofing. If your list contains one of those we tell you up front and quote it separately as project work under our general contractor license. That honesty is why we do not get called back to fix somebody elses shortcut.
We bill at $110 per hour with a two-hour minimum, with half-day and full-day blocks that come out lower per hour. Materials are billed at cost with receipts. You get the item list and the time on the invoice so you can see exactly what you paid for.
