A sauna kit is closer to a small building than to furniture. If the cabin is out of square it will not seal, and a door that binds lets the heat out, so accuracy at the base carries through everything above it.
A typical home cabin takes one to two days to assemble. The part that needs planning in advance is power: many sauna heaters need their own circuit, and the kit's manual will state what it requires. If a new circuit is needed, that is permitted electrical work in most Los Angeles jurisdictions, so raise it before delivery day.
Also think about location. Indoors, the room needs ventilation and a floor that tolerates moisture. Outdoors, the cabin needs a level base and protection where the supply enters.
