Repair and welding of iron fence

Repair and welding of a damaged iron fence, restoring it structurally rather than replacing the run. Wrought and tubular steel fencing usually fails in two places: at the welds, and at the base of the posts where they meet concrete or soil and corrode from the outside in. Our crew cut out the failed sections, welded in new material, and dressed the welds back before treating and coating the repair. Surface preparation is what determines how long the repair lasts. Coating over active rust simply hides it for a season, so affected metal was taken back to sound material first and primed appropriately. Repairing a fence is almost always cheaper than replacing it, and on older properties it preserves ironwork that would be expensive to reproduce. We repair fences, gates, railings, security bars and other structural metalwork.
