Installation of a large statement chandelier in a residential entrance. Heavy light fittings need a rated ceiling box fixed to structure. A standard box is not designed to carry a fixture of this weight, and swapping the fitting without upgrading the box is one of the more dangerous shortcuts in home improvement. Our crew confirmed the support, upgraded the mounting where required, and installed the fixture to the manufacturer's load specification. The fitting was assembled, wired, levelled and set at the correct drop for the ceiling height and the space below it. On a double-height entrance the drop determines whether the piece reads as intentional or simply low. We install chandeliers, pendants, ceiling fans and recessed lighting, including access at height. Electrical work is carried out to code.
