Custom fabrication and installation of metal railings, made to measure for the opening rather than adapted from a stock kit. The work covered site measurement, fabrication of the railing sections, and installation with fixings appropriate to the substrate. Railings are a safety item before they are a design item: the fixing into concrete, timber or masonry is what determines whether the rail holds under load, and stock brackets are frequently the weak point. Once fitted, the metalwork was finished and protected against corrosion.
